At Flat Out RC Experience and FORCE Raceway it’s always been about the RC Community and our amazing #FORCEFamily. That’s you. 🧡
One of our most supportive members of the #FORCEFamily is Matt Walding, who’s 8 year old son Aaron suffers with Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy.
After learning more about Aaron’s condition, as FORCE Raceway, I’ve chosen to support Muscular Dystrophy UK’s ‘Go Orange for a Day’ campaign this year.
There are several types of Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne’s – which Aaron suffers from – is fatal. Life expectancy for somebody like Aaron is sadly, early to mid twenties.
MDUK is a charity who’s goal is to complete research and find ways of extending life expectancy for people with Duchenne’s, and making life more comfortable for other sufferers of MD. As you can imagine, these things, amongst many other ways of supporting people with Muscular Dystrophy are really important to families like Matt’s.
We’re raising money for MDUK from 1st – 3rd February at the Raceway. How much you take part or contribute is entirely up to you. You are welcome at the raceway as always this weekend, in any case.
We can meet Aaron on Saturday night when he comes Banger Racing with his Dad. 🙂
Charity starts at home so…. The Raceway will donate £1 to the charity box for every racegoer who comes racing and either:
🧡 Wears something orange.
🧡 Runs an orange shell on their Touring Car, GT12, LMP, Banger, Truck, Hot Rod or Mini. We have some orange paint at the track.
We’d love to see a sea of orange on the Banger Oval on the 2nd February. 😃
We have shells on sale at the shop if you want to take part.
🧡 Pops an orange £ note in the charity collection.
In addition:
🧡 All sales of orange Fanta or Tango from ‘FORCE FED’ Cafe, will go in the charity box.
🧡 10% of proceeds from our Tamiya Comical Grasshopper raffle will go in the charity box.
🧡 There’ll be other ways you can help us raise money on the day. Watch this space 👍🏼
If you’d like to make a donation to the Raceways fund raising for MDUK, you can also do this via the Family & Friends option on PayPal to joereu76@gmail.com. Please add ‘AARON’ as your payment note.
There are so many worthwhile charities and we live in an age of constant fundraising. I get it’s heavy on the pocket. But if you can save just a fiver extra to contribute in some way that weekend, it’d mean the world to Matt and his family, and all those whose lives could be made better by the work of MDUK. Thanks in advance for the support. 🍊🧡
